Switching power supply is widely used in industrial control industry and automation industry. Since the quality of the switching power supply plays a very critical role in the normal operation of the load, it is very important to choose a suitable switching power supply. Generally, it is selected according to the following conditions.
1. According to the type of switching power supply
According to your own needs, confirm the type of input and output, whether you need AC to DC (AC-DC), DC to DC (DC-DC), or DC to AC (DC-AC).
2. Select according to the output voltage
The working voltage of automation equipment sensors is generally DC24V, so when selecting a switching power supply, it is necessary to choose an output voltage of DC24V. Generally, the working voltage of the user load is within a range, but problems are likely to occur if it is too high or too low. The switching power supply should be selected according to the power requirements of the user load.
3. Select the appropriate power size of the switching power supply
In order to improve the reliability of the system, it is recommended that the switching power supply actually work at a load of 50%-80%, that is, choose a switching power supply with an output power of about 30%. For example, if the power is 20W, a switching power supply with an output power of 25W-40W should be selected.
4. Choose according to the load current
The power consumption of different loads is different, and the switching power supply must provide sufficient operating current for the user load. If the output current of the power supply is too small, it cannot drive the load to work. Or cause the power supply to output at full load, and the heat itself is relatively large. When selecting the power of a switching power supply, it is generally necessary to leave enough margin. For example, if the load current is 2A, try to choose a power supply with an output current greater than 2A. If the output is 4A, generally speaking, you should leave at least 30% of the margin.
5. Choose according to certification
User products may be sold to different countries and regions, or used in different industries, and different regions have different certification requirements, and different industries have different certification requirements. For example, CE certification is required in the European Union, UL certification is required in North America, and most industries also require certification for EMC. Be sure to choose a switching power supply that meets the relevant certification.
6. Selection of other parameters
Other parameters, such as power supply size, installation method, operating temperature, number of output channels, waterproof, etc. When choosing a switching power supply, you must make a choice according to the specific conditions of your product, and choose a switching power supply that suits your product.
